The difficulty lies in planning for a continuous length of time for the various forms of uncertainties lying ahead. Putting in place the technology hardware and software is not as difficult as putting in place a structure to maintain cohesiveness, mentoring and exchange of ideas with constant disruption to operating in a physical office. Businesses need to invest in training their HR executives to manage their colleagues in the new norm.

Business development (BD) will also have to relook at how they can engage their customers’ experience, inspire trust and develop new relationships given international travel is out of the question for a considerable time. Should businesses relook at hiring and locating future BD personnel from certain countries? These are difficult times but require businesses to take a root and branch approach to how they function in these uncertain times.
